Pop
music icon Madonna who has already launched the 2004 Reinvention Tour,
has confirmed a one-day concert in Ireland on 29
August 2004 in Dublin's Slane Castle. This is her first-ever visit in Ireland and Slane Castle!
Tickets are limited to 6 per person and cost from 88 Euros up to 200 Euros.
Madonna has filed plans with an Irish council board, and according
to local reports, Madona has hammered out a deal where she
will receive either 5.5 million Euros (over $7.5 million) or
98.5 percent of the box office — whichever is greater. With
tickets being in the 200 Euro range, that could be one hefty
payday.
Madonna’s rep, Liz Rosenberg, denies the figures, but declines
to give specifics. She says final ticket prices have been
determined, and she also acknowledges that the singer will rake
in plenty of cash during her Reinvention Tour. “Will Madonna
make lots of money on her tour?” Rosenberg asks. “Absolutely.
And she will earn every penny.”
The Dublin Slane Castle gig will take place after a series of
Madonna's
UK concerts in London
(Earl's Court and Wembley Arena) and MEN Arena in Manchester.
Madonna will also be performing in Paris
after the Irish concert.
