Madonna 2004 Re-invention Tour in LA!

Superstar Madonna launched her Reinvention Tour in Los Angeles, California on 24 May 2004 in front of a capacity crowd. Tickets were sold out months in advance.

Madonna opened the show wearing a jewel-encrusted corset (photo) but changed into combat gear when she sang "American Life" backed up by the sounds of dropping bombs.

A high point for many fans was Madonna's rendition of the classic "Imagine", originally performed and written by John Lennon. The song was accompanied by a video of sick and injured children from around the world.

Most music analysts described the show as extravagant and politically charged.

The vast majority of the fans loved the show and thought "it was awsome". However, there was slight dissapointment as Madonna did not perform "Like A Virgin", one of her most famous songs from the 80s.

The North American leg of the Re-invention Tour consists of 39 concert dates in total.

Madonna will also travel to London, Dublin and Paris for the European leg. Single gigs in Manchester and Portugal have also been announced and confirmed.

An estimated 1,000,000 fans are expected to attend ReInvention 2004.
