Pop
music diva Madonna is to play a number of London
concerts on her forthcoming 2004 world tour, it has been announced.
The singer will play a show at London's Earls Court Arena
on 18 August and another on 19 August 2004. Madonna will also
stage a concert in London's Wembley Arena on 22, 23,
25 and 26 August 2004.
The superstar rehearsed intensively for the re-Invention Tour
and is expected to provide a memorable show to the lucky fans
who can get a ticket. A spokeswoman said: "She can't wait to
get back on stage."
Madonna's last tour dates in London and the UK were in 2001.
Tickets for the new concerts have already gone on sale and a
single ticket will cost £75 (if the booking is done early) up
to £750 (for late bookings and VIP seats) or even higher if
tickets are sold out.
The 2004 ReInvention Tour has begun in Los Angeles on 24 May.
The 100 strong crew accompanying Madona will be travelling around
the US and Canada for more than two months before coming to
Europe.
Maddona's concerts in London and Paris
were her only scheduled dates outside north America. However,
a Madonna
concert in Manchester and a Madonna
concert in Ireland have also been confirmed since and concert
tickets are available.
Over the past year, the singer has been concentrating on writing
children's books, releasing The English Roses and Mr Peabody's
Apples.
In 2003, Madona played a one-off show in London, UK
- in front of just 750 fans at the HMV store in Oxford Street.
The concert was held to promote her American Life album.
Most Madonna concert tickets for the 2004 ReInvention Tour are
