icons U2 have confirmed a single gig in Manchester in
June 2005. The concert will be held at the City of Manchester Stadium on Tuesday 14 June, and is one
of 4 confirmed stadium concerts in the UK. Breaking News: U2 are to play a second date in Manchester, after their original June 14 show sold out.
The band will now also play the following night at the City of Manchester Stadium too.
Concert Tickets have already gone on sale. They cost from £45 up to £320.
TOUTS selling U2 concert tickets on auction websites are being chased off the web this weekend after action by lawyers acting for the Irish rockers.
Legal advisers for the band’s website contacted eBay after thousands of tickets appeared on the auction site a few hours after a special advance sale for fans.
U2 are embarking on a world tour this year on the back of
their multi-million selling album, Vertigo.
They have already announced 2 concerts in
London (U2 tickets) at Twickenham Stadium on June 18 and 19 2005. U2 are
also playing a
gig in Ireland at Dublin's Croke Park, which takes place on
June 24, 1 show in Cardiff Millennium Stadium on June 29 2005 and 1 concert in Glasgow Hampden Park (June 21).
The 2005 Vertigo
Tour has already kicked-off and is hugely popular with fans and critics.
U2's last tour dates in the UK
were in 2001 and tickets were sold out.
The European leg of the Vertigo 2005 tour current tour will be launched in Brussels King Baudouin Stadium (June 10). U2 will tour around the US
and Canada for almost 9 weeks before heading to Europe
for the secong leg of "Vertigo 2005".
